How we work to do better and be better

As designers and doers, we believe creative energy can spark positive change that promotes equity and wellbeing for all. But it takes commitment and action.

Taking action adds value to our organization and the meaningful experiences we build for our customers.

Because of this commitment, we are focused on driving positive impact in three core areas — our people, principles, and the planet.

Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.

Building an equitable culture with diverse perspectives and ideas

It’s our mission to bring people together in meaningful ways. This opportunity, and responsibility, requires that we create and produce moments that matter — because they are authentic, unforgettable, and awe-inspiring. Moments that showcase and highlight the diverse experiences and beauty of our customers, our people, and our communities — locally and globally.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture focused on equity, empowerment, empathy, respect, and belonging where diverse viewpoints and individual expression are revered.

It’s our belief that a culture of belonging leads to more creativity and happier people who produce exemplary work for our customers.

Business Resource Groups (BRGs)

Freeman is committed to ensuring all employees are treated with respect and that their voices are valued. We continued to develop our business resource groups (BRGs) to build and foster an understanding of and empathy for our employees and customers who have a broad range of life experiences.

Diversity in Design Collaborative

We’re excited to be part of the newly formed Diversity in Design (DID) Collaborative, a group of companies that recognize that diversity is our greatest creative advantage and are coming together to foster systemic change in increasing diversity in design across disciplines.

The DID Collaborative will illuminate design career paths for underrepresented high school and college-aged students and create bridges to eventual employment opportunities.

Sustainability

The future depends on the sustainable work we do today

We believe in leaving the planet a better place than we found it. That means doing our part to discover innovative solutions to protect the environment that sustains us.

Sustainability isn’t just an “add-on.” It’s woven into everything we do.

Our sustainability agenda focuses on the biggest impact areas within the industry. With smart practices, eco-friendly material, outreach, and education, we can minimize the environmental
impact of events. To that end, we are working to reduce our carbon footprint by focusing on waste, resources, energy, people, and products.

Net Zero Carbon Events Initiative

Freeman is a founding member of the Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE) industry initiative that has pledged to work both individually and collaboratively to achieve the goal of being net zero carbon. Our goal includes:

  • Collaborate with partners, suppliers, and customers to drive change across the event value chain
  • Measure and track our GHG emissions according to industry best practices
  • Report our progress at least every two years

We aligned our goals with the Net Zero Carbon Pledge not only to reduce our carbon footprint, but to leave a positive imprint at every event. In doing so, we committed to the following goals:

  • Reducing our GHG emissions by 50% by 2030
  • Achieving net zero carbon by 2050
  • Achieving zero waste
